CYC Heritage Hotel commissioned me to make a unique collectible money packet (angpao) for the 2026 Lunar New Year. The red packet should also retain traditional elements, because the hotel's customers come from all age ranges and backgrounds. No crazy gothic design then. Instead, I went with gold embossing and the horse (since it's the year of the horse) and used the hotel's brand colours (purple and gold).
I also had to take into consideration the hotel's budget and not go too crazy with the design. With purple and gold, since they're strong colours, I had to be careful to steer away from the gaudy, tacky route, and towards a more royal look.
